I heard that before (and I tried to volunteer on Julia and I didn't get very far but that was before I became a super good programmer, maybe it would be easier now) but to me all that talk sounds like trying to search the glove compartment for a map when we should be slamming the breaks because we're heading to a precipice three inches away.

As in, yes, I'm in favor of working on climate models (and they're a prereq for targeted capture) but we also need to leave it in the ground

@Sandra You know I think like that too, but considering it is already too late, we need mitigation as well as decarbonisation. And for optimal mitigation, we need more accurate predictions. So maybe it is more accurate to say we need more accurate predictions for severe weather events.
For serious geo-hacking we'll definitely need better climate models too, to keep the probability of disastrous higher-order effects as low as possible.
