@csepp @neauoire @wim_v12e I feel yet again convinced in my basic take (
https://idiomdrottning.org/politics) that the most extreme of the most extreme left is the only ones with a clear view of our very real and very urgent problems, while mainstream society is oblivious and the right wing is denying, but, we the left don't know what the heck to actually do about it 😭
And sometimes when we try to do the right thing, things get worse 💔
Since we last saw these kinds of deflation activism, the number of SUV's have increased by almost 500% (according to the IEA). So to me it kinda feels like it didn't work.
I interpreted them as arguing against unpredictable, random, disruption of private citizen (as opposed to gov't or corporate) lives, as opposed to defending SUVs generally or as a practice.
Same way one could be opposed to guns (as I am) but simultaneously be opposed to B&E into people's gun safes with a set of lock picks and a blowtorch while they're sleeping. Someone arguing against the latter isn't necessarily defending guns.
There has been cases of people in a medical emergency that have had their SUV tires deflated 😭
Or people who've been stranded in the city far from their rural homes.
So if anyone chooses to do this kind of vigilante stuff, well, with great power there must also come great responsibilty.
(And to peope who sit down behInd the wheel of one of those three-letter death machines, same power/responsibility rant goes out to you too, of course. I hate SUVs. SUVs must go.)
