@exo We all know that the aesthetic origins of vaporwave are based on 80s pop art/Memphis group, but the ideology of the vaporwave collage is nothing new either. In fact, during the late 80s--the era of which the internet vaporwave community nostalgizes/abstracts as a "[transformative] production and dissemination of art" (Lovejoy, 23-25)--Warda Geismar abstracted her own postmodern technological surroundings in what would be one of the earliest works of proto-vaporwave collage, "Untitled" ('88)
