When we had just got married, my spouse and I, like several other young couples, had the misfortune of working opposite shifts, only able to really connect at dinnertime.

But we found an opportunity. We had an N64 and Ocarina of Time. We each played while the apartment was empty, and excitedly compared notes every time we got together for dinner, right up until one of us finally beat Ganon.

Even after our schedules eventually aligned, we still talked about Zelda for years on end afterward.

@zigg Separate leveling in City of Heroes 👍 :blobhearteyes:

@pmosetc Ahhhh what does that even mean I'm not familiar with the game

@zigg it's a superhero game. We were playing at separate times for awhile, and then would meet up to play bigger/harder stuff together

@pmosetc Ooooh. That sounds fun! Games you can do that with--spend time alone and then get together for rewarding co-op--I've found are super rare

@zigg much of the reason I played that as long as I did (before hopping to WoW) was that it had a cool system for handling disparate play... you'd become an exemplar or a sidekick to your hero friend, and it would shift your level to more closely match whatever they're working on. (Losing skills if you went down, missing out on being able to slot in items and stuff if you went up).

It was the first time I'd seen that kind of system. It was very, very good. :D

@catoutofbed Thank you ❤️

I have been telling that story to far too many people lately so I thought it was time to hit Masto with it

@zigg that's such a cute story. :blobmelt: Those chronicles of yours always make me smile.

@zigg That is a great story of how we find ways to make connections (through shared interests) even when life seems to be at odds with love.
