@USBloveDog @xyzzy it's rather interesting that we treat this wrongly. Suicidal thoughts should be talked about as normal, where as acting upon them should be considered abnormal instead of us just treating both as wrong. this would present a standard that normalizes people trying to cope with dark emotions and still denounces suicide, giving people more hope and welcome feelings

i have never been seriously suicidal (thankfully, fingers crossed), but i have had suicidal thoughts. and i don't feel like i can share that with any mental health professionals. i've always known that being labeled a danger to yourself is a one way ticket to institutionalization (or, when i was in college, being forced to take a semester off. yeah seriously, take a look at how high-profile US colleges handle suicidal students one day). and that's bullshit.
