oh! i thought this was interesting
my therapists office has a new policy where they have to go over app permissions with their patients. it's a matter of ethics- they want to make sure that apps aren't accessing the microphone during sessions.
we really do live in a cyberpunk dystopia huh

@xyzzy How about therapists putting their and your phones in a soundproof box for the duration of the session? Simple lowtech solution for that cyberpunk problem.
@SaniTea their recommendation was to put your phone on airplane mode.
@xyzzy Does that switch the microphone off, or just the network connection? In the latter case, the phone could still record the whole session and transmit the conversation as soon as there's a network again (/paranoia)
Just curious, if you are fine with recording the session, do they still want the microphone off??
