The polarizing argument over one or the other is a distraction from looking at the root cause.
Domestic violence is the most common thread in mass violence.
Arguing over banning guns or locking mentally ill people away is just a damn distraction.
Pull your heads out of your ass and address the root issue.

@Laurelai I would argue that the media is also a large factor. Look at the way things like this get reported: you become a celebrity instantly. Meanwhile in Germany, criminals' names are never released to the public. News reports will tell you age and sex and that's it. You're not wrong about toxic masculinity, but the media hysteria feeds directly into that toxicity.
