This is one of the articles that introduced the concept of a Carbon Footprint.
It is neither correct nor helpful to claim that this concept was invented by the oil industry and therefore rubbish. CF metrics are very useful at macro level. I know the oil industry used the concept to try and devolve responsibility. But that does not make CF a bad metric.
