I had luck once covering up *all* the possible entry points. the problem with this is that mice can squeeze their way through almost anything (think the size of a pencil eraser), so it takes a lot of diligence.

I lived in this one place where they had gotten into the walls, and the feedback we got was "you're never going to get rid of them, unless you call pest control". Even then, they breed a lot.

@artsyhonker @viTekiM I love mice, I was not looking forward to going the traps route. But like you said, it's a "has to be done" sort of thing. Dealt with in some way that actually works, at least.

@artsyhonker @viTekiM Did you try the sonic aversion route? I got one (plug into a wall outlet, turn it on), but it didn't work. They'd run through my room at night, which was a bit much and then some.

@viTekiM @shoutcacophony Those sonic aversion things are loud and hurt my ears and the mice didn't seem to notice them.

@artsyhonker @viTekiM the ones i got i wasn't able to hear fwiw, but i don't have 20Khz hearing any more so who knows. they didn't work, either way

I was unable to have plastic bags in my bedroom for a good decade afterward because they make a noise sometimes and I would wake up instantly, terrified.
