snatcher appreciation post!!!
in 1988 hideo kojima wrote and directed a cyberpunk visual novel called "snatcher"
i'm currently playing the english sega cd port on my 3DS via an emulator and it's just ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
it literally opens up with a dedication in the intro that says "this story is dedicated to all those cyberpunks who fight against injustice and corruption every day of their lives"
the graphics are gorgeous, the world-building is top-notch, i can't wait to see where it goes next
somebody asked how to play this on 3DS and i wrote out some instructions so i may as well paste em in the thread too
first you need a hacked 3DS https://3ds.hacks.guide/
then you need retroarch https://docs.libretro.com/guides/install-3ds2ds/
you'll want the "picodrive" core in particular
put the sega cd BIOS (you can get it from archive.org) in the "system" folder
then you download the game (it can also be found on archive.org) and run the .cue file to play it (the .bin file is important too and where most of the game data is actually stored)

the bad news is, i've just heard some very bad things about the retroarch developers
the good news is, you don't even actually need retroarch to play this -- you can just download picodrive directly!!!
