turns out you can only use it at locations "that only sell transit passes" which means *the transit authority storefront* is out because it turns out **they sell merch**

accidentally signed up for the prepaid debit card instead of the straight "mail me a transit pass" option for commuter benefits and OH MY GOD it is *impossible* to purchase a pass with this card

alternatively i look forward to the supreme court case of 'super-offended-nice-religious-girl v texas' cos texas asked her to prove she wasn't pregnant in order to go to church camp in colorado and she and her parents are just *shocked* that the state would *dare* suggest she'd ever do such a thing, she's a *nice girl* and has the purity ring to prove it

also if weird ultraconservative anti-women views are gonna make me legit concerned my current state government is gonna monitor my interstate travel *on the off chance I *may* be pregnant and *may* be seeking an abortion* guess what motherfucker? i *may* be pregnant, so i *may* have a dependent, and the government better grant me all the benefits of having a dependent and let me file head of household

if that lady in plano successfully argues her way out of a traffic ticket by getting the supreme court to say, out loud, that her gestating fetus is a whole other person i better get the ability to claim all my potential children as dependents on my taxes cos that particular fuckin can of worms is gonna be hell so i better at least be able to file head of household and get some tax breaks out of it

once again, i'm just left very confused by the exact flavor of racism weird old white guys come up with. like. pearl harbor??? does he think literally *any governing or military body* is *coordinating* migrant border crossings??? is this some weird white supremacist talking point i never heard of before??? is tucker carlson ranting about air-based migrant caravans now?? do white supremacist texans want to go to war with mexico suddenly and this is his weird excuse?

like i could write a goddamn essay here on all the *very obvious ways* he is not only wrong but *outright offensive* in that statement but the most coherent thought i have on that is just. the fuck??

i had to call my state govt today cos lt gov dan patrick compared ~"the border crisis"~ *directly* to *PEARL HARBOR* in an explicit *call to violence* to his base and like

incidentally, the cdc recommends 16 separate vaccines - some of which require multiple shots, of course - for children from birth to age 5. there's like 50 separate doses, even if you ignore the annual flu shot or just count that as one entry

if he wants to be an incendiary, disingenuous asshole, then I'll just occasionally infodump on his office very civilly about exactly how wrong he is

i'm just doing my civic duty as his constituent to ensure my representatives are knowledgeable about things that concern me

and boy am i concerned about my representatives

so ted cruz is still (unfortunately) my senator and he's getting into fights with muppets on twitter

and he's *all* up in arms about sesame street ~daring~ to advocate for, in his exact words, "children UNDER 5" (emphasis his) be vaccinated

so i pulled up the cdc's website and thoroughly annoyed his regional office by calling them up and reciting the list of vaccines recommended to administer to children - dose by dose - from birth to ages 4-6

the aide cut me off somewhere around age 3, but i feel i got my point across 😏

in my defense it's been hot as hell lately and long hair *sucks* in the heat

like. it's been over 100 *before the heat index* pretty consistently the last 2 weeks and my a/c and standing fans have not been up to the challenge. so there's at least one rational, not-weirdly-psychological reason for me wanting to just. dispose of my hair.

there's probably something deep and psychological about the fact that i impulse-shave my hair pretty regularly but my therapist left the practice so 🙃

hopefully i still like it in the actual light of day morning cos i'm gonna be facing down half my extended family this weekend and i better own this choice to them

can't sleep, so i made possibly bad impulse decisions and shaved my head again
