accidentally signed up for the prepaid debit card instead of the straight "mail me a transit pass" option for commuter benefits and OH MY GOD it is *impossible* to purchase a pass with this card
oh yeah, i'm definitely here *at the transit authority store* to buy *a branded lunchbag* 
turns out you can only use it at locations "that only sell transit passes" which means *the transit authority storefront* is out because it turns out **they sell merch**
