@superruserr I would recommend starting with #Mindfulness in Plain English by Ven. Henepola Gunaratana. It presents a secular (accessible!) form of breathing #meditation that can form the basis for any spiritual practice.
From there, I think it depends on your disposition and what you want to study.

@superruserr Although different traditions will define #mindfulness differently - it can be understood as moment-to-moment remembering of the #meditation object. And then there is the commercialized versions such as Mindfulness Based #Stress Reduction.
Meditation is not about spacing out and feeling relaxed. It is about strengthening our concentration on meaningful, joyful objects. Meditation music is also discouraged because it can cause distractions.
