This song made me cry so hard that I really want to share it and talk about it

Mother Mother - "It's Alright"

It's like the most honest kind of support and validation plus a gentle hug all in the form of one not even 3 minute song. ;o;

For those of you that don't know, Stonehearth is a cute village management game that was released in the autumn last year. I've been playing and following its development for the better part of two years!

"The Embroidered Computer is an exploration into using historic gold embroidery materials and knowledge to craft a programmable 8 bit computer.
Solely built from a variety of metal threads, magnetic, glas and metal beads, and being inspired by traditional crafting routines and patterns, the piece questions the appearance of current digital and electronic technologies surrounding us, as well as our interaction with them."

Question to ask when choosing a web framework: Does this tool assist me in making this site more useable for blind people? #webdev

@enkiv2 Commodified tech, and in particular commodified social media, has... changed a lot of that landscape. On the one hand it's made a lot of things more accessible at the user level, but IMO the trade-off is it's made things significantly *less* accessible at the developer level; I couldn't imagine getting into even basic webdev stuff nowadays, for example, in between the mess of packagers and frameworks and containerization options and the like.

Here is the thing: Books are not a special object that transcend being consumer goods. Often elevating them to such renders invisible the labor behind them and that it should be compensated.

There are bad books!

Books as an identity is not more healthy than "gamer" as an identity. You may love books or games! You may devote yourself to them! But they are a consumer good. Not an identity.

Absolutely, get rid of the books you do not love. You own your possessions. They do not own you.

A while back I built a site that converts RSS feeds to ActivityPub actors that you can subscribe to from Mastodon and other ActivityPub-compliant social networks:

I've now also published the source code:

OK! Ered Luin can now queue, stream, and dequeue videos.

Now, time to package it for every Linux distribution out there - it is "an experiment in software packaging", after all.

I'm currently looking at doing Arch, Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine probably, Void probably, a standalone Docker image, and maybe Nix and Guix.

Other suggestions?
