how to get nora to read a book
have the first blurb say, in its entirety:
"Lesbian necromancers explore a haunted gothic palace in space!"
@tindall Muir had this to say to someone that was worried the lesbian part would detract from the story:
> [...] the plot contains arguably very little romance, and conflicts/issues surrounding being LGBTQIA+ don't come up at all and never will. Hilariously, the word 'lesbian' comes up in the blurb, but is never used in the book.
PS. the story is pretty good regardless. I enjoyed it a lot.
@mariusor ah, too bad. Oh well, the blurb is nearly as good without that bit, and I'm sure the book is great :)
@tindall Oh, I remember those covers! It was put on my list because I'm a shallow person and never actually read the title.
@tindall fair warning: the second book is *really different* from the first. You will WTF a lot, albeit for reasons explained later in the book.
@tindall OMG YES I love that book!! It's like a haunted house murder-mystery with sword-fights and magic and skeletons
the book in question, by the way, is "Gideon the Ninth" by Tamsyn Muir
