watching baseball games without any real teams or players that i feel like i have to care about or know about or root for or root against really does reveal the fact that there's a lot to like about the game itself

i like sports history, i loved the jon bois seattle mariners documentary, but it is also just an unfathomable amount of information that it feels like you *have* to know before you can understand anything that's happening. maybe this is just me, but i'm often scared that i'll accidentally like the wrong team or the wrong player and get hoisted because i don't know the history and context.

@prophet_goddess I don’t even know a single thing about baseball but I still love those stories and the way Jon tells them. Even if I am often shocked at how many games are in a season.
