Should I add my pronouns (he/him) in my bio?
I don't really feel it's necessary because I'm a cis male and nobody ever misgendered me (that's a privilege!)
@Siphonay True, but it's a triviality for a cis male (me too) and helps normalize the practice so people don''t react weirdly and harrass a trans/enby person when they see it for the first time. Plus, there are a lot of people who identify as one gender and mainly present as another, so it's a courtesy that avoids the hassle of accidentally misgendering someone and having them have to explain. Noone's forcing you, but consider how it can help others!
@Siphonay @Gargoylezoo you mean one doesnt experience gender as male / female ?
@Siphonay @Gargoylezoo im sorta nonbinary, but i was born in 1956, as result brain was coded by deep binary logic
@theresatagonmyshirt @Siphonay Yeah, it's unfortunate that it's only in the last decade or so that those rigid gender norms have started breaking down. But it's never too late to be true to yourself! I just saw a video of a transgender woman who transitioned at 90-something.
@theresatagonmyshirt exactly. There are different types (as I understand, not enby myself), ranging from feminine male to masculine female with everything in between, and then those who experience no gender at all (agender) or a non-conventional gender that can't be classified along the male-female spectrum. All of them fall under the broader heading of nonbinary, or enby.
@Gargoylezoo in other words basic statistical variation applied to psychological experience . seems common sense to me . its how nature works . strict binariness is illusion !!
@theresatagonmyshirt Biology is too messy for the binary.
@theresatagonmyshirt @Gargoylezoo You're right!
