Technically, you are correct, but ffmpeg isn't usually what people have in mind when they say "video editing software".

I second OpenShot, just the right level of features/complexity (in other words, only the basic features) But I have to say my experience with it was a few years back, on linux.

When I had to edit something on Windows this year, I couldn't get OpenShot to work. I also tried Blender but that was never directly intended for video editing and has so many more features then you need. I didn't manage to edit anything with that.

I didn't solve this question on Windows yet.

The best working one for me was Flowblade. Really like it.

@thefishcrow last time I did video editing (about 2 years ago) I used kdenlive because it had a half-decent interface and seemed like the best option at the time. no clue how much the ecosystem has evolved since then
