@thefishcrow
whats some FOSS video editing software?
@thefishcrow
essentially anything else you can get is a frontend to ffmpeg
@shmibs
@thefishcrow
Technically, you are correct, but ffmpeg isn't usually what people have in mind when they say "video editing software".
@thefishcrow kd(e?)live
also openshot
@thefishcrow openshot
@thefishcrow supposedly you can use blender?
@thefishcrow kdenlive, blender
@thefishcrow ummm, uhhhh, sed? maybe awk? *ducks*
@thefishcrow OpenShot has worked for me.
@thefishcrow
I second OpenShot, just the right level of features/complexity (in other words, only the basic features) But I have to say my experience with it was a few years back, on linux.
When I had to edit something on Windows this year, I couldn't get OpenShot to work. I also tried Blender but that was never directly intended for video editing and has so many more features then you need. I didn't manage to edit anything with that.
I didn't solve this question on Windows yet.
@thefishcrow
The best working one for me was Flowblade. Really like it.
@thefishcrow Is there any?
@rocket thanks
@thefishcrow last time I did video editing (about 2 years ago) I used kdenlive because it had a half-decent interface and seemed like the best option at the time. no clue how much the ecosystem has evolved since then
