There’s a moment in Code Rush, the 2000 Netscape documentary where Jamie Zawinski (who should be here?) says, this is a new medium, but if we don’t watch it this could end up like television. It could be controlled by a few big companies. It really hurt the heart.
I'm starting to think this is a flow and ebb, an evolutionary process that doesn't stop with this state of affairs
that the East India Tea Company's fall is what lies ahead for the Big Honkin' Tech Messes, regardless of how untouchable they consider themselves
things congeal, but things break apart as well
maybe this point was inevitable
maybe not
I honestly don't know any more
@sydneyfalk @sophia Yahoo looked untouchable in 97
In Soviet Russia television watches you.
@hairylarry @sophia Don’t buy smart TVs
@sophia Funnily enough we're planning on watching Code Rush at our upcoming Michigan!/usr/group meeting. We're hoping to get Wolf out for the showing (miscredited in the movie as he has since changed his name. He's the one they bring in for the Macintosh port.)
Will be interesting to see how well this movie has aged and hopefully do some course-corrections.
