I think the yiddish version has it be eyn gadya (a little goat) who sides with eyn groys kats (a big cat)... but I think mouse and lion works better in english...
@shel I like it, though it is amusing as Canada is often pictured as a mouse in Canada/USA metaphors. (The USE is normally an elephant, not a lion though)
