This year is the 75th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
Holocaust Remembrance Day is specifically the day on the Hebrew calendar of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the largest act of resistance of Jews against Nazi Germany. The German response was to burn the entire ghetto block by block, killing 13k Jews and 300 Germans.
