I think a lot of Mastodon... it's walking on eggshells not because everyone gets offended but more cuz it feels very fragile here. We always CW Trump but even if you CW it if you post abt him a lot ppl will subtoot u for giving a shit about impending apocalypse. Everyone here doesn't want to engage with the panic and anxiety outside and I Get It That's Super Real but it can also feel suffocating

A part of this is just that on Mastodon I'm Super popular and influential, while on Twitter I have some popular mutuals but I'm not personally popular; and I'm sure if I was twitter famous it'd be exhausting to post there too.

But also I just think like... people on Twitter have better social skills? Which is horribly rude and probably ableist to say like i'm on the spectrum i certainly Get having poor social skills but... it can be... really tiring to be so Patient all the time w/ ppl who don't understand what's inappropriate to share with me or what's like... just noise that i don't care about or want to hear.

i'm also a little less understanding about this cuz often the ppl doing this are if not 50% older than me then twice my age or older... so it's like... you had 40 years to acquire some social skills... come on...

on Mastodon everything i say becomes a federal fucking issue even if it's like, oh, I Used Telegram Today and everyone's fighting abt cybersecurity now.

@shel i only(?) have ~1230 followers on twitter and i had to disable notifications to not just get super anxious about using it.

@meena I have less than 200 twitter followers and i'm pretty sure 80% of them are bots or ppl following me to market themselves and try to get a follow back
