@tomasino Also GDPR in action: American sites flat up refusing to load from European IP addresses (I find the idea of meatspace political boundaries starting to manifest as real boundaries in cyberspace terrifying), and gigantic cookie popups on 95% of the web (which those of us with aggressive cookie-discarding policies have to see every. single. time.).

@tomasino You're probably right. It just feels like a band-aid to me. We should be deprecating the technologies that allow this kind of tracking in the first place and replacing them with ones that don't.

The technology is already here: server side includes. But apparently that's too much for big websites to handle... 🙄
