For #scifi and #fantasy #writers out there:
What #slang or phrases have you come up with for your world? Give us an example.
Some of mine are:
* Wolfsplaining - the Rube Goldberg equivalent of trying to say something in the most convoluted, cryptic way. Neo Victorians do this often.
* Machipado - contraction of "mal chispado" (badly sparked). A robot or android gone haywire.
* "Girl plus" - hermaphrodite. In a biotech world, gender and orientation are a choice.
@rick_777 I'll have a go.
Bike riding: Used to mean flying a small craft for pleasure, now used for illicit courier work. Several suggestions exist for what a "bike" used to be but there is disagreement amongst scholars.
Witches' Teat: a frozen confection consisting of ice and fresh berries, used as a demonstration of skill in sorcery (particularly accurate translocation), of affection to the recipient, and daring, due to the inherent danger of disrespect to powerful witches.
