I tend to incorporate an elastic band for my case of strips and the lancet pen, a velcro-sealed mesh pouch for lancets, a folder for paper pad and a pencil stub for writing what I ate in case I can't get internet for my food diary, and I cheat and use the moulded plastic bit from my original kit for my meter. I prefer ones that are booklet/wallet style and that zip or have a button clasp.
