Ok, I have decided to move my account. 🌈 This is now decommissioned. 💀 I have moved to @rafaelcaricio please follow me there from now on...

Gmail will block all third party mail clients starting from June: pmail.com/newsflash.htm

That is, unless they pay $4500 minimum for an audit :D

Stop using gmail and enabling their monopolistic practices, if you already haven't.

Anybody has recommendations of websites to create events that could be used instead of Facebook?
The events are activist types, so marches, workshops, etc.

[boosts appreciated]

Visualizing the fediverse in different ways is really cool.

Can't wait to ship the new fedidb.org 😁 #fediDB

Idea for a fedi bot which I don't want to spend time to implement, but which I think would be good: have it package all replies to it that reference a thread from @EU_Commission into an email sent to a random EC Spokesperson on ec.europa.eu/info/contact/pres with a link to the OP.

#ChatControl is definitely the reason, thanks for asking.

@EU_Commission Except for we have every right to be afraid since you're giving dangerous countries like Hungary and Poland powerful tools like #chatcontrol to find and oppress even the last of us. And don't get back at me with "but it's just for pedophiles blabla", everyone knows these regimes try to label every single LGBTIQ* as pedo, not even mentioning how faulty the AI detection will be.

No, I'm not feeling safe in the EU anymore.

How do I import a remote note to my #Misskey instance via the API? I tried notes/search with

{ query: 'https://likeable.space/notice/AJNql15IHB0b6gRQsy', host: 'likeable.space' }

but that returns an empty array. If I put the URL in the search function in the web interface it fetches it.

We made fediverse.info for you, the #fediverse.

This represents more than just Pixelfed, and we recognize how important it is to remain unbiased and not use this to further our own project.

Our long term goal for fediverse.info is to turn it over to a reputable, non-profit organization if possible!

Your feedback is invaluable and has helped shape the project thus far, let us know what you think about this!

Do old cache files in #Misskey get deleted automatically after a while or do I have to press the “clear cache” button manually from time to time?

If not, can I remove the files via a script outside of Misskey or will it explode?

I’m staking my definition of a website in the ground.

A website is text and image data formatted using html and a little css for display.

If it uses a database, javascript or anything else fancy then it’s not a website, it’s a program.

If I figure out and manage to configure a good recovery strategy for my VPS, I might move to my own Pleroma instance. :blobcoffee:

I'm thinking, maybe I should schedule drills every three months to not forget how to recover from disasters like corrupt disk/loss of data... also to double-check that my backups are working.

I also need to write some automation to configure everything. Most of the current instance is already automated anyways. But I would like to have a "1 click" restore solution.

Am I too paranoid? Maybe I am too demanding on myself.

Super-excited to announce the highly anticipated independent audit by @LeastAuthority@twitter.com of vodozemac - our next generation native Rust reference implementation for Matrix E2EE (part funded by @gematik1@twitter.com). Read all about it: matrix.org/blog/2022/05/16/ind

My friend was explaining to me how much easier life is with home automation, giving me a full rundown of a complex server setup that allows him to turn the lights on and off with his phone with about 90% success. Also told me about things he does to maintain the system.

Meanwhile I am using a light switch.

I don't know why I've posted this, just a few minutes later started raining :blobdisapproval:

Today was the first time this year that I went to do a quick grocery shop wearing only t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops. :blobdancer: Feels good! Welcome summer! :blobcatboo:

Q: Why did the network admin go to the restroom to diagnose connectivity problems?

A: Taking a tcpdump.

EU Commission’s latest attempt to backdoor your privacy tries the Trump era William Barr justice department “think of the children” playbook.

No one thinks we shouldn’t do everything in our power to combat child sexual abuse. Some of us just don’t want to destroy the fundamental human right to privacy (and every other human right that’s based on it) in the process.
