Here it is. The black hole at the center of M87, its nearly the size of our entire solar system. The first ever image of a black hole, made from 5 PB of raw data.

That black dot in the middle isn’t technically the black hole, it’s the event horizon and then some more, due to the way light bends around it, and because light that misses the horizon is getting bent in and drawn into the black hole.

Also I though black holes had been photographed before via gravitational lensing.
