Inspired by @djsundog , here are three things I learned about the Isley Brothers today.

1. Their first Top 40 hit - Twist and Shout. The first version of the song, produced by Phil Spector when he didn’t know what he was doing, was a dud, so the songwriter Bert Berns re-recorded it with them.
2. Jimi Hendrix played guitar with them in the mid-60s.
3. They wrote “Shout”!

Didn't they also do Hollywood Swinging? I loved that song, especially the punk/funk version by The Big Boys.
