scheme is cool but it takes me a long time to read and even longer to get the indentation the way i like. i'm sure most experienced lisp-ers have their editor set up *just right* so they don't have to deal with this stuff but heck if i know how to handle any language that isn't based on block syntax

should you really be using a single C file when it's 100kloc? i don't think there's anything wrong with "portion.c" to maintain a single CU and a little sanity

donsol is neat but damn what are the odds of even starting a winnable game?

i think i've woke up with Flower Called Nowhere stuck in my head almost every day the past week

also i am disappointed by the lack of built-in palette swapping. you can't exactly do it at a per-sprite level where the same image data is being pulled

Show thread

i'm really close to creating my own bg layer system in tic-80 because having a retro-esque computer that only blits sprites just feels wrong

although i do wonder if this has merit as a GPU shader (for insecure, graphical purposes ofc)

random, probably terrible idea: using a CA rule on a square grid and sampling a single row as an RNG, running N ticks between each invocation

maybe one extra assembler, an inserter with an upgrade you don't have yet, another belt you didn't make the room for

i wish the numbers in vanilla factorio worked out a little better. like, to keep production at your desired rate, you always seem to need a little more of something than what would've worked cleanly. it's just a compromise of minor inconveniences

hm i realize now that a single "not" would suffice

Lua code

hm hold on that might look better without whitespace actually

i definitely didn't even like the s/t on this album until last month. so long, don't fall apart~

TMV songs had really good pacing song lengths even up until the end (Vedamalady, Noctourniquet)

i don't know what it's called but some of the rhythm is built on bars split into 4 over 6 so it does sound two thirds the actual BPM depending on what you're focusing on

Show thread

flower called nowhere is like 211.5 BPM, damn
