#introductions hi, i'm connor.
i'm interested in #programming, #machinelearning #ai, #hacking, #reversing, learning and playing with math. i enjoy writing #cpp, #python, and #lua.
sometimes i hack #zelda games for the #n64, but more generally i follow wherever my interests take me. i tend to avoid big projects because of that. i ramble a lot about whatever i'm working on or learning about.
i've helped my sister raise a dozen pet #rats! i also love #tea, #cats, #anime, and #music.
@notwa
I am also named conner, and you remind me far too much of myself for that to be a coincidence
@notwa Welcome to the Fediverse!
@jan i'm just migrating, but thank you nonetheless
@notwa Heyo Connor!
I'm currently trying to make a Wonder Boy-esque platformer within NES limitations, but I don't actually know how to code so @mysidia is helping me with that. I'm designing everything else though-- the levels, graphics, characters, etc.
Ocarina of Time hacking then? And the pet rats sound adorable!
@behemoff that sounds really neat! although I'm not familiar with Wonder Boy. are you using the NES palette too?
I do small hacks and write small utilities for OoT and MM. I have a widescreen hack for OoT, and a "beta quest" hack for MM, although they've both been stuck at 80% completion. mostly I try to help with mining data for tcrf friends and occasionally speedrunners.
I'm heading out right now but I can send you some links (including rats~) later
@notwa Wonder Boy is a Master System/Mega Drive series -- basically platforming, but there's something of an item system and puzzles based around it, NPCs, etc.
And yes, I'm trying to stick to the palette and limitations of the system as much as possible ^^
That's really cool though! And yes I would love to see the ratties~
@behemoff
widescreen hack: https://eaguru.guru/b/2016-04-17.html i wrote a lot more words than i remember 😅
@notwa Thanks! I've always loved reading into the back-end nitty-gritty of why games work the way they do, even if I don't always understand the details...
@notwa Welcome aboard! I too am a big fan of rats and Python.

@notwa Hi, and welcome! 👋
