playing around with shapes. left: cubic bezier; right: circular mask

some problem-solving notes for good measure

(my use of terms is bad; $diameter instead refers to the size of the circles used to approximate a regular polygon of size $radius)

those three colors on white strongly remind me of the poker chip set we have somewhere

i feel like i'm getting close to something i'm satisfied with, but the ones i like the look of the most are all from different sets (changing one changes all the others)

obviously i could just mix and match but that destroys the patterns that make it neat and less arbitrary

i remade the inner part with quadratic curves, and i like the extra degree of control, but now realize that the outer parts don't really 'work' with this method

if you haven't figured out what this is or what it's for, don't worry, i haven't either
