am I supposed to use useradd or adduser.

@nightpool adduser, unless it's in a script and you know what you're doing.

@iliana normally I just guess but @aschmitz assures me that it's adduser

@nightpool @iliana (I mean, I had a guess, but useradd(8) says "useradd is a low level utility for adding users. On Debian, administrators should usually use adduser(8) instead.")

@nightpool @iliana enoent 🤷​ They'll both get you where you want to go, adduser is just a little friendlier on the way.

@nightpool you can just use vim if yer careful it's fine.
