feeling great kinship here, because when my partner and I were reading the play aloud and got to the lines —
Some man or other must present Wall,
and let him hold his fingers thus,
and through that cranny shall
Pyramus and Thisby whisper.
— we both instinctively agreed on an okay/gottem hand gesture for "thus", and in the production we've watched so far the actor did the same thing and then worked with another actor to turn it to a rude fucking hand gesture.... reminding me of the gloryhole jokes I was cracking when I translated Pyramus and Thisbe for latin class in high school
