Stabatha @mirzaba

I hate the Dadification of games. They did it with God of War of all things? 🤷‍♀️

@mirzaba This is what happens when techbros get older and have kids.

@thornyonmain I heard its good gameplay wise. Still prolly never gonna play it tho

@mirzaba I liked it tbh
Also I just really appreciate the pacing and art design a little more than to care about something like that

@mirzaba honestly I sometimes wonder if the reason Bioshock 2 was so criticized was because of how it was kind of the anti-dad game

like, I have no idea if it was intentional but it feels like a scathing critique of the dadifcation of games to me

@bugeoisie I definitely see that comparison, which makes me kind of want to try it out. On the other hand, people say its one of those tedious boring types of games, gameplay wise.

@mirzaba I mean, I feel like its by far the most interesting Bioshock game mechanically, although it really depends on what you're into

I dunno what I'd even describe it as, I wouldn't call it quite an Immersive Sim, but like somewhere between one and a shooter (Leans way more shooter tho)

you can shoot bees at people tho, that's a plus imo

@bugeoisie Does it approach the level of first person adventure or is it still a fairly rigid survival horror FPS?

@mirzaba I wouldn't call it an FPA, to my recollection there's no puzzles, its very much weighted towards the combat encounters and the narrative

like for lack of a better reference point its not structurally dissimilar to Half Life 2, but with rpg-lite systems for your powers and weapons that give you some amount of character building and freedom with how you engage combat

@bugeoisie If its more structured like HL2 then I can probably deal with it. Plus, biopunk is a very small genre and I should be looking into as much biopunk as I can anyways.
