gotta admit, politically i'm biased as hell. i'm always going to favor policies that allow me to continue to live instead of causing me to die. sorry to be such a hardliner.
I've always loved using this in heated discussions.
Bigot: "You're making this issue Too Political"
Me: "Nah, man, I'm just... like... I don't want people to suffer or die, you know?"
Bigot: "Well that's unacceptable"
Me: "So you do want people to suffer and die? Harsh, man. Why you gotta be so political?"
It never works on the bigot in question, but I've been told it was effective by former fence sitters.

@matt but why not be willing to compromise? give a little bit, live in misery for decades so that others may achieve greater wealth? why be so selfish?
