I never played this "minigame island" mode in Mario Party before. It's a neat idea; it's a solo mode where you have a limited number of lives to make it through a bunch of spaces with set minigames. Every time you clear one, you get a life. The board has save spaces (the koopa shell space just ahead of me) so if you run out of lives you don't have to start at the beginning each time. If it's a minigame where everyone can get coins, it'll have a special clear condition to progress, like "get 10 coins".
It sucks that one of the minigames I got is Paddle Battle, because I refuse to injure myself to play a game. 🤷 No way to skip or veto any of the games. Ah well.
