Weird-ass dreams last night included: introducing a species of carnivorous beetles into a home to deal with cockroaches, and then a species of ants to eat the beetles. The ants are bred/genetically engineered for cannibalism, so once there are no more beetles to eat, the ants will eat each other. However, when I was helping the person carry groceries in from the store, they just handed me an open jar of live bugs, which I dropped and spilled all the bugs everywhere and everyone was disappointed in me.
Also a massive earthquake opening up a previously inaccessible part of the Arctic circle, discovering a wooly mammoth skeleton that seemed to be made of metal. The peculiar gleam of metal under clear blue ice inspired the friend I was traveling with to create a line of jewelry.
The person was like "the bugs are harmless to humans, obviously I wouldn't be handing them to you if it was a danger to you. Look. I have a few of them crawling on my arms, it's fine" and I said "Yeah but I don't care how harmless they are, you still fucking warn someone before you hand them a jar of live bugs"
A position I stand by now that I'm awake
