Well, I played through most of Doom with my mod, and I think it's actually too easy. My original idea was just cyberdemons + one hit kill, but that felt too hard, so I added a bunch of stuff to make it easier, and I may have overcompensated. I don't want to take out the stuff I added, because it's fun, so I guess I need to figure out a way to make it harder again.
The easiest way would be to make the cyberdemons human-sized, so half of them aren't uselessly stuck in the ceiling, but (1) the image of cyberdemons stuck in the ceiling is funny, and (2) something about a short cyberdemon just... feels wrong
Maybe I should make a version that has rocket launchers on their shins. They still wouldn't be able to move, but at least they could see you and shoot at you. I don't know if that's possible though.
Maybe I should take out all the extra soulspheres and give you a gun that shoots soulspheres instead. That would at least give you something else to spend cells on. As it is, it's way too easy to save up 600 and nuke everything.
I should probably make the costs higher, too. Maybe 100 for the soulsphere, 200 for invulnerability, 1000 for the nuke.
Okay, 75% size cyberdemons seems to be a good compromise. They're still intimidatingly large (bigger than barons of hell still) but small enough to greatly reduce the number uselessly stuck in the ceiling
I might make a normal-sized class for the ones that replace the barons in E1M8 though, because that's kind of hilarious
@matt have you ever considered: 3 inch tall Cyberdemons. Just, action figures that kill the fuck out of you.
@The_T They're two separate values, but yeah it's easy to change both by the same amount
I don't know if there's a way to change where the rocket appears relative to the sprite though, so it just kind of appears above their heads whenever they shoot
