"The first of the episodic releases is set primarily in the dystopian city of Midgar, which represents only the first few hours in the PlayStation original. By significantly expanding on the original's plot, it's possible the episodic releases could continue for years before Final Fantasy VII Remake is truly complete."
@matt I hear that, but like it also means an entire game that's purely about ecoterrorism and why it is good.
I just remember this not working out for Hitman at all and how people just will not buy episodic games until they're complete, and so end up forgetting about them entirely.
@Helmic Midgar is my favorite part of FF7 and represents around 1/3 of the text in the game, so I'm fine with devoting more time to it, but the fact that they don't have a roadmap for how many episodes it'll be means it'll end up turning into a poorly paced, unstructured mess that is probably never actually finished. They need a plan. If they're going to add to the story, they need to know what they're going to add. I really hope they're just trying to manage expectations here.
