update: if i launch this unity game *outside* of steam it launches successfully and works, at least until it sees it's not running under steam and relaunches itself under steam

it then proceeds to not work, from within steam

@irimi1 i've used sunvox (freeware, previously opensource bsd license), bitwig studio (paid, native), ableton live 9 (paid, not native), and lmms (open source) for varying purposes

@irimi1 there's a few good paid softwares that natively support linux and a few that don't but run mostly fine anyway

as well as some open source options that are hit or miss depending on what you need
