I never wanted or used hashtags on twitter

why would I want them here.

Everytime I see someone use a #hashtag in their #text it pisses me off irationally

@kurisu @kurisu the point was to associate t{wee,oo}ts to separate posts regardless of connection between the users. Like a DHT of toots in the fediverse.

@kurisu finding related posts? Who else is talking about #mastadon on Twitter I wanna know.

Rather than building an index on every word in every tweet they can optimize on hashtags which are intentionally categorizing posts.

Now everyone going #lol #omg #cantbelieveit #wowsowow isn't doing anyone justice and no one cares about that.
