I would give Toki Pona a go as WorldPidgin
it has only 14 sounds (noted by their IPA representation : a, e, i, o, u ; j, k, l, m, n, p, s, t, w)
It has no double consonants nor consonant clusters, no double vowels nor diphthongs (nor triphthongs)
The only consonant that can close a syllable is a -n
The language has only some 123 words ...
