i'm way too deep into homelabbing to reasonably get out of it at this point

let's hope i can continue making enough capitalism funbucks to support this hobby :blobglare:

options:
- wait for $cloud-provider credits to run out and then just start paying for it
- forget ever wanting to run a mail stack and also incur the wrath of comcastverizonat&knuckles and yolo with no gateway
- if endoffice will take pi 4s and actually hook them up to gigabit i could actually reasonably colo a gateway

sad that selfhosting out of a residential connection in $current_year basically requires a gateway for multiple reasons

eventually i will have to start actually paying for my gateway in some form or another and it will be extremely not fun :(

Imagine a bunch of 8 year old kids setting up a spare laptop to run a minecraft server to play together, then Comcast shutting their internet down because they violated their policy against running dedicated service hosting hardware. Any potential for them to learn about networking technology gets cut off right at the political level.

i
cannot decide whether i should continue using lain.faith or switch everything to awoo.systems

i'd have my callsign on my profile here but it's linked to my Irl Name and Address and ...

proprietary software?

stay safe, kids

so i tried to kexec on my laptop

and ran into my first ever actual kernel panic (ie, one that was not a direct result of me trying to write kernel code and failing :blobcat: )

fun times
