Pinned ping

I have a question to the people who love to read. When reading a series of books, do you prefer short books or long books?

(I hate asking, but if you could boost this for reach, I would appreciate it)

Writing a book and building a whole world and culture is tough. Hopefully the second book will be more like writing fan fic where the bones of the story are formed and I'm just adding meat to the bones.

I'm on my 2nd rewrite now and everything is changing. The story almost doesn't matter at this point because I'm working so much on building the perception of the and culture behind the people and language of .

My Workflow

Distribution = Slackware 14.2

Window Manager = DWM (Dynamic Window Manager)

Terminal = st (Suckless Terminal)

Music = cmus

Editor = Joe

Web Browser = surf (takes forever to compile on my Eee PC, but totally worth it)

Password Manager = pass (Password Store, managing passwords the Unix way)

That's it! That is all I want/need for my everyday writing Workflow. Easy as pie!

Here is my current desktop.

And yes, that is a wallpaper I devised on my very own because so many of the wallpapers out there are trashy.

Don't forget the three Ps! Perfect Pipe Placement!

Slack on, my dudes and dudettes!

My wife just signed for my pinebook pro so I am currently ducking out of work early because I have my priorities in order.

I'm working on a book called The Art of Gods with a subtitle of A Season of Chaos with a focus on the linguistic and the mythological influence upon a culture. It is more of an ongoing study I have had into how language and mythology influences a culture.

If anyone cares, I use as my editor on and . and are my friends too! Also sewn together with a single Makefile.

A question for #Vala programmers: are there *any* examples on how to use #libhandy with vala (and preferably Glade)?

All I can find is UI mockups and 0% code.

I've been thinking about forking and building a Slackware repo with only and the tools as the base. Just for my own personal use.

Oh and now that I've figured out how to change the dwm color scheme to a Nord Theme, it is game on!

I updated my today... strikes again! Apparently the kernel failed to load modules because they were missing from the new kernel and i got a bunch of errors in dmes. Then there screen flickered and went black. Computer boots, but I can only interface with it via SSH. Now I just got dwm almost perfect. So I need to fix this instead of doing and starting over.

Anyone have any ideas?

@klaatu and @lostnbronx I have to say that I am really enjoying your series on (Hacker Public Radio)! Thank you for this delightful listen!

I'll be honest, I did not expect to enjoy listening to people play a game, but it has been a highlight of my last few days.

Compiling for today. I say *today* because I think it is going to take all day to compile the dependency. Yay! It will compile while I'm at work and hopefully not catch my little Eee PC on fire... Hehehe

You know one of the best things about and all of the software? You don't have to deal with Qt or Gtk or any of that. There is a little GTK in , but just the webkit
