My conscious thought tells me that I don't care but my emotional brain is apparently worried about being misrepresented.
I ask it "who fucking cares" and the answer is always "you do apparently".
@trhr I'm honestly more concerned about why I care about things that I don't want to care about and how to stop :P
Is our decision making based of a personal interpretation of reality any less random then an interpreted tarot reading?
That was exactly my thought process and my answers ranged from "no" to "marginally".
It appears to me that most of the value of tarot is in the very deliberate and methodical decision making process (of which there are several different schemes) and in how the random element helps reduce the perceived burden of the responsibility for the decision.
You can see how it's survived as a tradition on that front - if you strip away the mysticism it's a workflow for minimizing option paralysis and the anxiety associated with uncertainty.
