hopefully you mean the original kind (5,25" or 8"). Being pelted with any significant quanity of the more modern plastic cased 3" / 3,5" ones could end up being unpleasant or even painful..

But yep, for long distance I recommend throwing a larger, softer one. (kinda like a frisbee)
