@sir the reason i heard is that it's free and requires no setup, but i'm pretty sure there are alternatives.
my greatest disappointment is that the local hackerspace uses it.

@sir i guess i should have said "alternatives that have been around for a long time". the switching cost is probably not _that_ high though, so yeah, time for a change.
(also 9fans moving to topicbox was.... disappointing. if there is a JS-less way to read the archives on their site, i haven't found it.)

My greatest disappointment is that racket-users used to be hosted at lists.racket-lang.org/ but switched to googroups. There are archives at www.mail-archive.com/racket-us… and that other popular mirror with the godawful layout, but there's a gap of 1-2 years where googroups is the only place.
