@uranther it opens with a tutorial for once, fshalt output is different, there is a window that's cat-ting /dev/kprint open by default and there is an open mail thingy in acme and a faces window showing incoming mail
there are two mails, dated around 2002 and they welcome you to your new system
so tldr: much friendlier than 9front, i kinda like it
when i get time, i'll try to port the changes to the 9front kernel
and i'll probably mess that up quite a few times
@uranther
s/once/one
anyways, i've been looking for some project to get into kernel related C stuff so this could be perfect
@grainloom that's rad!! it's a small system to hack on 😺
@uranther oh also the font is very different and it doesn't have the 9front boot thingy so it doesn't ask you stuff on boot, it just opens to a desktop
@grainloom much friendlier setup! I thought all the developer did was port the RPi3 hardware to the kernel. Didn't realize it was pre-configured too! I'll have to test it out some time.
@uranther i think the config comes from the old Bell-Labs code? and 9front just removed it because. 9front.
@grainloom the front fell off.
@grainloom What is the difference? I never got around to booting it up.
