#alpinelinux is quite a shift for me from #archlinux because I've come to rely on the abundance of packages and the #AUR

Arch isn't a DIY distro anyways, it's KISS.
It has an installer it's called pacstrap 😛
@rdh hecc, I use #archlinux because I'm lazy! I don't want to have to download/compile Blender myself just because I want the latest version and I don't want to manage its dependencies myself.

All the stuff you liked from the AUR is still available tho, and isn't arch supposed to be the do-it-yourself distro, anyway? Why is the AUR so important to arch users, but actual features, like an installer arent?
