write up on the new gab instance <neenster.org>
Neenster.org is a new gab instance on the block. It's running the Spinster fork of the Gab fork of mastodon. Hence the name.
The domain has the .org tld. Fun fact, it's only registered for a year so good luck with them price increases.
It is created by Nina Paley who has her own wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nina_Paley. She calls the instance her own social media experiment so it just seems like a personal project for her. Does already have 60+ users which is decent for a couple day old instance.
She was a mod on spinster.xyz and while her faq says the site is totally trans inclusive, idk if I trust her on that one. The site does have lots of lovely fishies as the background so I do love that.
Fun fact: You are not allowed to call someone a bigot on this platform. Says so in the faq! https://neenster.org/about
I mean reading the faq gives you a good insight to the sorta "freezepeach" mentality. Though she also does have a rule against bigotry. Its very confusing.
Anyway ofc an instance ran by a current/former spinster mod using its fork probably deserves a block.
@maloki @roxxers She's linking to Glinner's transphobic rubbish so I think that's a confirmed TERF. (If "former moderator at spinster" wasn't enough.)
I also notice the server rules say "men, women, and trans people" are welcome, which is classic weasel-wording.
Cybrespace is an instance of Mastodon, a social network based on open web protocols and free, open-source software. It is decentralized like e-mail.
